More Security With RFID Access And Access Control
Companies, authorities and cities are increasingly relying on demarcated, designated parking areas and automated RFID access and access controls as future technologies for traffic control . In order to be able to meet the high technical and economic expectations of the operators and the high demands for convenience of the users, the technology must be as uncomplicated and simple as possible. At the same time, however, it must also meet the highest security standards and also guarantee reliable and reliable identification in practice – regardless of the weather conditions. Conventional solutions quickly reach their limits here. With Myaxxess, Feig Electronic GmbH offers a powerful, economical, but above all secure solution for sustainable small and medium-sized access and access control projects.
More and more cars – less and less parking spaces
Whether as stand -Alone system or integrated into an existing RFID-based system, Myaxxess is a fully compatible system that can be integrated into any environment in a very short time. Thanks to the appropriate „Myaxxess Manager“ software, customers can quickly, easily and securely manage individual access authorizations for people and vehicles. This allows electronic approvals and authorizations to be issued for certain users (groups) and for selected areas or even just individual doors and driveways, and at the same time the respective readers can be individually configured. All events, whether attempted violations or authorized entries, can then be read out and displayed quickly, conveniently and securely using the Myaxxess Manager. This interaction of fast and reliable hardware on the one hand and the individual software for every customer requirement on the other hand makes the fully compatible Myaxxess system the ideal solution for numerous areas of application.
High detection range of the RFID access control systems
RFID access controls are primarily used in parking space management. This can be, for example, commercially managed parking areas and buildings at airports, city centers or event locations. Due to the large detection range, RFID access control systems are also being used more and more frequently at campsites, municipal works depots, fire brigades or even haulage companies. In practice, long-range identification uses transponders that are located on the vehicle, for example on the windscreen. With these long-range solutions, authorized persons or vehicles can pass the access control without stopping. Long-range readers are therefore particularly useful where a high and rapid flow of vehicles is desired or necessary, or where easy access is required without stopping and showing or inserting a card.
Traffic concepts with automatically retractable bollards
Municipalities and public places, municipalities and security authorities in particular are increasingly relying on traffic concepts that include the installation of automatically retractable bollards. The background is, on the one hand, the protection of large crowds of people, especially during events, and, on the other hand, pedestrian zones that are frequented in everyday life can be secured in this way. This ensures that only previously authorized vehicles have access and that access is regulated in the interests of general safety. Combined with, for example, loop detector modules from the MNST series and frequency converter controls from Feig, this results in an optimal unit for operating bollards or barriers.
RFID identification of people in the vicinity
RFID access controls, on the other hand, are mainly used in hotels or companies. Chip cards and key fobs are used as transponders to identify people in close proximity – at doors or barriers. If these are a few centimeters away from the reader, the system reacts. With the Myaxxess software from Feig, customers can easily regulate authorizations for their electronic RFID identification of people in the vicinity. With just a few clicks, you can define which people have access to certain areas and at what time. However, this high performance does not come at the expense of security: because secure and reliable identification is guaranteed. With the help of the RFID transponder, it is possible in everyday life to immediately identify unauthorized copies. Cryptographic methods can be used to determine in a matter of seconds whether an RFID transponder is really “authentic” or whether it has been copied. In addition, additional data contained can be stored and read out in a cryptographically secured manner. Feig RFID transponders are therefore secured against manipulation, copy-protected and thus even more secure than other systems. For particularly practical applications, Feig also offers maximum security and maximum control based on the popular Mifare Desfire chip technology.
Much effect with little effort
Im Signs of worldwide industrial espionage must protect their intellectual property as best as possible. Installed security software is not sufficient for this. Physical access controls to sensitive areas are also mandatory today.

Weather independence of the RFID technology
But regardless of whether it’s close-range applications over a few centimeters or powerful RFID long-range readers over several meters, one thing in particular characterizes the RFID technology: its independence from the weather . If, for example, optical processes are no longer functional due to poor visibility due to dirt, dust, fog, snow or rain 30 % can be guaranteed, the RFID systems are working by Feig still safe and without functional restrictions due to the radio transmission. This makes them the ideal solution for reliable access and access control – even under the most demanding outdoor conditions. This is another reason why the RFID systems are used in so many different ways and have already proven themselves a thousand times over. To ensure that these high quality standards can also be maintained in the future, the entire design, programming and production of Feig’s RFID readers, transponders and software has always been carried out exclusively in Germany.
