New DGWZ Seminar On Emergency Power Supply
Abdominal 2000 the German Society for Economic Cooperation (DGWZ) offers a new workshop entitled „Emergency power supply – UPS systems and backup power systems“. The two-day workshop imparts the technical standards and legal regulations and trains you to become a competent individual for the planning, installation, maintenance and repair of uninterruptible power supply (UPS systems) and backup power systems. The further training is aimed at planners, installers, operators and employees from the public sector, manufacturers and service providers of emergency power supplies as well as operators of hospitals, computer and telecommunications centers, meeting places, critical infrastructures (KRITIS), electricians, electrical engineers, technicians and technical managers. New definitions for the emergency power supply are currently being established in standardization, which will be incorporated into future standard projects.
Emergency power supply provides energy in case of emergency
An emergency power supply means the supply of electrical energy in an emergency. Since the power supply must be guaranteed at all times of the day and night, the risk of a completely stopped power supply must never be taken. It is therefore necessary to be able to access an emergency power supply in certain areas at any time. For short-term use, uninterruptible power supplies, so-called UPS systems, can be used as providers, for long-term use backup power systems, such as individual generators, entire accumulation and complete systems. Which devices are required in each case depends on the spatial conditions abdominal muscle, but also on the amount of electricity to be produced.
Uninterruptible power supply from rechargeable batteries
An uninterruptible power supply (UPS) draws its energy from accumulators and is used to protect highly sensitive technical systems such as mainframe computers, web servers, telephone systems and medical devices. It ensures uninterrupted operation in the event of a public power failure. UPS systems are usually only dimensioned for a short bridging time. During this time, technical systems can be returned to a safe operating state, or a backup power system can take over the additional power supply.
Emergency power systems, such as diesel-powered emergency power generators, are often used when the public energy supply fails. They are used to supply the property’s emergency power grid. The acquisition of this supply is not uninterrupted. In the best autumn, their start-up time is a matter of seconds. The service life depends to a large extent on a secure supply of fuel of impeccable quality. Alternative and more environmentally friendly solutions for supplying the emergency power grid can also be battery storage systems or fuel cells.
Two day workshop in hybrid style
